Breaking Lively News: Feeling like the little mermaid under the sea?

As you can see from the picture, Blake have had a hair change! She made an appearance at this year's TIME 100 Gala in a beautiful mermaid like blue gown by Zuhair Murad accessorized with strawberry blonde tresses and her signature gorgeous smile.
While the hair came as a delightful surprise, her happy demeanor, sexy body, and enchanting smile did not, that's just our Blake.
Her hair change is for an upcoming film, with Alec Baldwin, no word yet on her role.
Blake was quoted as saying 'I don't really feel like myself with red hair...I feel like Ariel!'
I for one love the change, and hope to see more photo ops from this obviously fantastic night.

UPDATE: Here are some more fabulous shots of Blake. She's good with the camera, no?

Reason to be Blake Lively #9

Her skin. Never ever have I seen her with a breakout, ruddiness, blotches, or any over all tone and texture problems. It's pretty perfect. Even on her arms and legs, the skin is a beautiful overall nice shade, a light tanned that just thins her enough without being insane. She's still pale where a natural blonde should be pale, the face, chest, and inside arms. She's tan probably from her fabulous life, she's got the money and the freedom to take a few days off to go to a beach and swim and play; I just hope she uses sunscreen!
Going back to the perfection of her even skin tone, she's definitely rich enough to afford regular dermatologist appointments, and we all know she has the DNA of an angel, but I assume she uses non-comedogenic makeup, washes her face with a good cleanser, uses her fair share of moisturizer, and never forgets her pore strips. I'd like to point out, though the fact that her job really enforces her need to look her best at all time, so that keep her from skipping out on face washing, and her money enables her to use whatever she wants on her face, it's easy to maintain a proper complexion. Wash your face every night, with a cleanser formulated to your skin type (Oily, combination, or dry), perhaps a toner if you're oily, and a moisturizer that is also suited to your needs. Exfoliate once weekly, never exfoliate more than three times a week, it can actually give you more acne is you over do it. Also, never ever ever ever ever pick a pimple! I know it's soooo tempting but please! Ignore it! Also, try not to touch you face, it spreads oil and bacteria that can harm a glowing complexion.

I know most of this is obvious, but really, if done consistently, for the average person it works. Also, be sure to wash all makeup utensils once a week, they can also spread bacteria and oil. If you wash your makeup off every night just lightly rinse your face in the morning with rosewater, or cold water to minimize pores.

Healthy nourishing masks made from natural ingredients can help to give an extra glow to skin. A good mask is mashed banana and honey, but it's for normal skin because it's not overly moisturizing. A good mask for oily skin is egg whites, green tea leaves, and some lemon juice. All of it reduces oil production. A fantastic mask for dry skin, that can also be used sparingly on severely dry or damaged hair is avocado and olive oil.
For overall fantastic skin, exfoliate once weekly with a mixture of sugar, honey, oatmeal, and lemon juice.

Breaking Lively News: Leaving Gossip Girl?

Her rep has supposedly reported that if Blake gets her way, her character Serena Ver Der Woodsen will get killed off the hit T.V show series Gossip Girl.
She reportedly said that she is bored to death of the 'petty storyline and cat fights'.
No confirmation yet on this rumors truthfulness, but I for one hope it is a scandalous falsehood.

Reason to be Blake Lively #8

The phenomenal T.V series, Sex and the City is based off a book by the same name, written by Candace Bushnell, who wrote another set of books called 'The Carrie Diaries'. The excellent news about this is that there is a HUGE rumor going around that those books are being turned into a movie, and possibly even a new Sex and the City T.V show, and that....Blake Lively may play the young Carrie Bradshaw! It's like all my dreams are coming true! My favorite T.V show recast with my favorite actress playing the lead!
Personally, I think it's a perfect fit, although Blake is much prettier than SJP(Sorry boo!), I must admit that they both have a similar attraction because of their personalities. I think it's a perfect match and I hate myself for not living in NYC to try out for the part, I'd be good at it too, except I'd have to dye my hair back to blonde, and Blake looks much better with golden locks than I.

Reason to be Blake Lively #7

Her fabulous legs. Often said to be the best legs in Hollywood. The thing I appreciate about her a lot and that adds to all the perfection is that light tan.
It's light.
Most people would say that she's 'tan' but considering how pale she probably naturally is, there is definitely some tanning going on. Probably being as rich and amazing as she is, she has time for vacation on fabulous beaches to get a light tan.

Her legs are also toned, as apposed to crazy muscular. They are still soft, but she definitely does her cardio. For legs like those I would not recommend running, but walking, pilates, and light cardio.

Reason to be Blake Lively #6

Her arms. Maybe I only appreciate this aspect of her because I have permanently flabby arms, but I think it's a great thing that she has nicely toned arms that aren't crazy muscular.

I choose this part of her body because I feel like it's an achievement. Most celebrities have toned everything, even arms, but it's hard for us normal people to do all of that.

To achieve arms like hers do cardio while working weights. Such as, doing lunges with five pound weight in your hands. Keep the weights light to tone, rather than build muscle.

Be sure to do many reps though. Tone is working a small amount frequently. So, you may want to do fifty curl rather than twenty while watching the new episode of Gossip Girl. Also, while holding the weights hold out your arms completely straight and make small circles. This exercise also tones.

Reason to be Blake Lively #5

Her beyond perfect hair.

And not only it's gorgeousness, but how well it suits her. She wears it well. Some starlets make awful hair mistake, but she never ever does. Simple, chic up-dos and long healthy beach-y strands. Her hair will be iconic, I tell you.

I searched online for how to get her hair, and this is the consensus;

Step 1: Preferably start with unwashed hair. Just put some dry shampoo or baby powder at your roots. If you can't do that, put mousse and a heat protector in your hair, blow dry upside down, all the while twirling sections of your hair to create body and waves.

Step 2: Spray hair lightly with hairspray before curling two to three inch sections with a wide barrel curling iron. Be sure to curl the curls vertically and in different directions as you go so they stay loose and separated. Also, leave the ends of your hair out of the curling iron. If you'd rather do hot rollers use the largest you own and some just slightly smaller. Spray with hair spay, roll the curler under the hair, and alternate sizes. Don't leave in for too long.

Step 3: Shake out curls using your fingers, do not brush! Add a texturizing balm to make the look more beach-y, or a shine spray to make it look more sleek.

The set hairstylist for Gossip Girl creates this style by sparying a beach spray on freshly deep conditioned hair, blowing it dry upside down then curling random sections leaving the ends out. Then she puts in a styling balm and puts the hair in a big bun with hair pins for around a half an hour.

Reason to be Blake Lively #4

She takes her acting seriously.

After reading an interview with her somewhat about her role in 'The Town' and her experiences as an actress I had to realize why we love her.

She actually acts!

She got her first movie at sixteen, with no acting experience, 'The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants'. She said none of the being in a movie thing hit her until she really saw it, then she realized she needed to learn how to act.

Her family was in the business, so she didn't start out with absolutely nothing. But she definitely worked at it. For her role in 'The Town' she worked with several dialect coaches to get the right kind of Boston accent and talked with a native from Boston, to learn about the place and the culture. She really puts in her dues as an actress.

I find it amazing that she tries to be a good actress, she works with the character she's given, to find their essence and their story they have to tell.

It's one of the amazing things about her.

Reason to be Blake Lively #3

This is a weird one, but something I noticed about Blake in all of her perfection; even her teeth are perfect! I realize that someone with as much money as her can buy teeth whiteners and afford her bi-yearly dentist visits, but still. Many famous people have barley acceptable smiles. But hers is award-worthy. I want teeth like hers.
I think my next blog will be about her nose. It's her real nose and it is so perfect on her pretty little face.
I think that the brightness and happiness of her smile is what adds to her perfect glow.
I found another reason to be her. Her perfect combination of east coast and west coast.
More obsession to come, I suppose. I adore this gorgeous woman.

Reason to be Blake Lively #2

Her shoes.
And the fact that she is friends with Christian Louboutin.

She even has a pair named after her, she fell in love with a pair at his shop when she was hanging out with him and he decided to name them 'Blake'.
I'm pretty sure she always wear Louboutins. After a long hour of prowling Google for the religiously followed red sole on her feet, I never saw anything that wasn't a Louboutin. I could't even find any images of her in workout sneakers. I saw boots. I saw sandals. I saw heels and platforms. But all had the classic red sole, which I think she enjoys showing off. After all, it is her best friends signature.

Reason #1 to be Blake Lively.

Because....

Dun dun dun....

She's hot.
Fucking hot.

She is, she's gorgeous. And not in a traditional way. She's oddly sexy, and a huge part of this is due to the fact that she is confident. She's a confident woman, which we can all take a lesson from. And something else that adds to her hotness is her style. She dresses her body well, works out, eats well, and doesn't overdo any particular thing. She never has on too much makeup, rather, she seems to prefer less makeup. Her hair is never over-done. She colors it for sure, but the curls are never fussy, it's never stick straight, her up-do's are modern and clean.

She lets her natural beauty shine through while letting beauty products do what they are really supposed to do; enhance.

Also, a point I touched on but wish to stress is that she takes care of herself! She doesn't starve herself by any means, but she maintains a decent diet and exercises.

More reasons to be obsessed with her to come, this though, I figured was the most obvious.
